South East, Southern Area news
March area news
February, the day of our Sunday lunch at the Half Moon. It
was the first time we have visited this establishment for a
lunch. It turned out to be a very good choice. For an ordinary
Sunday lunch I thought the food and service was excellent –
a definite for next year. Barb, Val and myself turned up in the
JAZZ SHAME! On entering the car park ,saw a lovely array
of Triumphs so I crept around the corner and parked up out
of sight. I did not want to spoil the line-up. We had 9 Triumphs
of various sorts plus Paul driving Carol’s Singer Vogue. There
were 21 of us in attendance, but not all dined. It was great to
see everybody, thanks for your ,support.
The show and run invitations are rolling in apace so keep
your eye on Paul’s site for the latest. I usually have entry forms
for most of them, if you are interested, in stock. Barb would
like to thank everybody for their generous support of the raffle,
in buying tickets and for the donations of prizes.
My apologies to Dick who was down as attending in a TR6
instead of his GT6, this can happen along the line – I believe
they call it a typo? Sorry Paul – you were totally missed out.
Not good at all after you made the effort to attend whilst Carol
wasn’t up to the mark. (Sorry for the mistakes last month.
Probably something to do with being asked to send it with
mere hours to spare! Will try to do better, Vanessa)
I have now added the roaming meetings and the Sunday
lunch meetings to the calendar. There are a couple of new
venues The Victoria Inn, West Marden. PO18 9EN and The
Trooper, Froxfield GU32 1BD Please note , that on May 19th
is the Fernhurst Revels. This is Wendy's local village show.
It's a great little event. Last year we had eight or nine cars
there . It would be great if we had a few more to put up a serious
challenge to the Alfa Romeos.
